Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. About Career Platform and these terms
Career Platform (careerplatform.co.uk) is operated personally by Harris Charles as an individual, not through a registered company. Operator address: 80 Henderson Road, Portsmouth, PO4 9JG, United Kingdom. By creating an account you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your information.
2. The beta service
Career Platform is a free, invitation-only early-access beta focused on UK careers. It currently covers 50 careers, each with routes and step-by-step roadmaps. It also offers Career Discovery (including AI-assisted discovery), Career Fit and Skills Gap tools, an AI Career Coach, and a profile for your skills, qualifications, experience and links.
The beta is free. There are no paid plans or subscriptions, and we won't charge you without first asking for your clear agreement to new terms. Employer search, recruitment tools, job listings, course or mentor marketplaces and paid plans are future plans, not part of the current service.
Because it's a beta, features may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn, and things may not always work as expected. We'll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes. If we close the beta, we'll give you reasonable notice and, where practical, the chance to download your information first.
3. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep your password secure. Don't share your account.
- You're responsible for activity on your account unless it happens because of our failure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
- You must be aged 18 or over to use the controlled beta.
4. Your content
You own the information and files you add, such as your profile, qualifications, documents and photo. You give us permission to store, display and process them only as needed to run the service for you, including sending them to our service providers (for example, AI features) as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in backups for a limited time.
You must have the right to upload anything you add. Qualification evidence must be genuine and must relate to you. Uploading false, altered or someone else's documents is not allowed.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or parts of the service you're not authorised to use;
- scrape, copy in bulk or systematically extract career content or other data;
- interfere with, overload or test the security of the service without our written permission;
- get around usage limits, or misuse AI features (for example, to produce harmful or unlawful content);
- upload malware, unlawful content, or content that infringes others' rights;
- use the service in breach of any law.
6. Career information and AI guidance
Career, salary, route, cost, funding, entry-requirement and qualification information is general guidance. It may be incomplete or out of date and can change. AI-generated suggestions, explanations and Coach replies can be wrong. Check important details with course providers, awarding bodies, employers or official sources such as the National Careers Service before making decisions.
We can't guarantee any outcome, such as getting a place on a course, a job, a particular salary, progression or recognition of a qualification. Qualification statuses describe what evidence has been provided. AI document reading is not official verification.
7. Our content
The Career Platform software, design, name, branding and career content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal career planning, but not copy or reuse them for other purposes without permission.
8. Suspension and closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. We may suspend or close an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or to protect users or the service. Where appropriate, we'll explain why and give you the chance to respond. When an account is closed, personal information is handled as set out in the Privacy Policy.
9. Our responsibility to you
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can't legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. It also doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, as the beta is free and provided for personal use, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses. We also aren't responsible for decisions you make based on general guidance or AI suggestions, where we've provided that information with reasonable care. [To be supplied: confirmation of this liability wording after legal review]
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the beta develops. We'll tell you about significant changes before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales may hear disputes, but this does not restrict any right you have as a consumer to bring a claim in your local courts, including in Scotland or Northern Ireland, or remove any mandatory legal protections that apply to you. If you have a complaint, please contact us first and we'll try to resolve it.
[To be supplied: legal review of the proposed governing-law and disputes wording]
